We are pleased to announce that Kirkhill District Amenities Association has a new name and structure. Last year we applied to the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator to change our legal structure to a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). The new structure is more suitable for the organisation and will give the committee members personal liability protection.
The SCIO has been set up and we are now in the process of transferring all the assets including the property into the new body. We are very grateful to solicitors Innes and Mackay for their support in this process.
And the new name? We thought it would be a good to give the name the Ronseal treatment and so it is now Kirkhill Community Centre. We’ll be changing our invoicing and bank accounts shortly and will inform users when to change to the new name.
The SCIO structure requires us to have a membership that supports the organisation and can vote at general meetings. A strong membership will help us deliver great facilities for all the community and we would encourage you to join. Membership forms are now available here and from the secretary and in the hall foyer.
