Welcome back!
Now that Easter is out of the way and the clocks have gone forward, it is time to get ready for the Summer term.
Firstly, Cubs will start back on Tuesday 19th April in the Community Centre at 6:30 pm. As is usual for the first session back, we will be holding a Games Night.
Term Programme
This term we will be working on some activity badges – Navigator and Emergency Aid badges – as well as the some of the Challenge Awards. We are planning on being out and about, given the lighter evenings and better weather. When we are outside, Cubs should be dressed appropriately for the weather conditions with a waterproof jacket and walking shoes or boots.
We are planning a joint evening hike at Belladrum with our Beavers and our friends from Crown Cubs on the evening of 24th May. We will be walking around the forest track and climbing up Phoineas Hill (http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/lochness/Phoineashill.shtml). We would appreciate it if any parents could come along and help us.
At the end of term, we will be holding a Sausage Sizzle at Loch Achilty, near Contin. This will be an opportunity for the whole Scout Group – Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers – to get together and have some fun. Midge repellent is an essential item for this event!

Summer Camp
We will be going to camp at Badaguish, near Avimore, over the weekend of 29th April-1st May. The Sixers and Seconders will be camping on the Friday night and the remainder will join on Saturday morning and camp on the Saturday night. The Cubs have been given permission slips that should be filled in and returned by the 19th April along with the appropriate Camp fee. We will hold a brief meeting for parents on the evening of Tuesday 26th April, where we will be able to answer any questions that you may have about the camp.
Term Fees
Term fees are due on the first week back. The subs this term are £25 for existing Cubs and £30 for new Cubs, to cover investiture. These can be paid either using the online system or in cash or by cheque, if you prefer. Be aware that the payment system may send out emails even if you have paid manually. In that case, you can ignore the request for payment.
Parent Helpers
Finally, thank you for your support over the year. If you would like to help out with the Cubs, either as a uniformed leader or on a more irregular basis, please ask any one of the leaders. It is both rewarding and enjoyable and a role we would recommend to anyone.
